As the LGBT Liaison officer I have been identifying and developing a medium to long term
plan of support initiatives, campaigns, information seminars, workshops etc which have the objective
of supporting LGBT students among the UL undergraduate and postgraduate population; facilitating
those students who may wish to ‘come out’ but fear doing so as well as providing information for
wider dissemination which has the objective of educating the general campus community on LGBT
issues. Please feel free to make contact at any time with your curiosities, ideas, and concerns. I run
a drop-in in room CM-072 on Tuesday evenings from 5 – 6pm. I also run an LGBT ‘Forum’ on
Tuesday evenings from 6-7pm. Both are confidential services and are open to everybody. I can also be
contacted by e-mail (see above). Over the autumn and spring semesters I run ‘Coming-out’ workshops,
the details of which will be on posters throughout the campus. I also run experiential workshops
on ‘Homophobia’. This is an open workshop and everybody is welcome.
